Fjällräven is best known for its iconic backpacks and its love of the outdoors. For this concept project, I designed a new "Back to School" line of patterns for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. With kids spending more time on screens than ever, encouraging them to play outside in nature has never been more important. Fjällräven's durable backpacks are built to keep up with every adventure, keeping everything inside safe and clean no matter how muddy things get.
Inspired by the nature themes children encounter most, like grass, flowers, fruit, and animals, along with the bold, angular shapes of Swiss design, I created three unisex patterns meant to get students excited for the back-to-school season.
